Dr. Walter B. Koppel is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and manages all MEDEX Physician Advisors, providing oversight on cases throughout the world. As he has for 30 years, he continues to maintain a private practice in Internal Medicine. In addition to his responsibilities with MEDEX, Dr. Koppel is the medical director of Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. In that capacity, he provides policy initiation, medical guidance, and oversees OSHA compliance and surveillance for major aerospace defense projects. Dr. Koppel earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland Medical School, and holds a number of other degrees including a Masters of Public Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin; a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola College, and a Master of Science in Microbiology and Toxicology from the University of Maryland. His wide range of experiences makes him an excellent fit as MEDEX’s Medical Director.
